Search for Businesses or Brands
You can locate retail businesses in the U.S. to add to your Analyst projects by searching for brand names, business categories, or business names. Start by searching for specific brands and business categories, such as the brand name or business categories like advertising agencies or barber shops. If you can't find the location using those criteria, search instead by the business name, especially if you're searching for a regional or local business.
This search focuses on retail locations, so if the business you're searching for also has corporate locations, you're unlikely to see them included in these results.
You can search and add these businesses to an existing project. If you don't yet have one, we recommend creating a General Analysis project, which by default creates a project for the entire U.S. If you're working with a smaller area, you can also create a project size specific to your focus area. However, only locations within the project area will be added.
Select Add > Find brands & businesses.
Select Brands & Business Categories and enter the brand name or business category you want to find in the search field.
Select the checkbox next to the business names you want to include. You can select several to include in the same layer.
If you can't find the business you're looking for, select Places and enter the business names, separated by line breaks or semicolons.
Click Add businesses, which adds every business brand, category, and name you've selected to the same layer.
After the processing is complete, your layer will be added to the Layers list. You can work with this data layer like others in the layer pane. You can also now process these locations to connect them to Insights.
